Welcome to Ohtomo-Yoshimatsu Laboratory
In our laboratory, we have been studying solid-state chemistry and solid-state physics to understand epitaxial growth of thin-film materials and emergent phenomena inaccessible in bulk materials. Toward the creation of innovative devices useful for next-generation information society and creative/energy-saving technologies, our approaches are based on “chemistry for the devices”, meaning synthesis of new thin-film materials, mainly metal oxides, elucidation of epitaxial growth mechanism, and search for new functions.
